For over 20 years, the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids Charities Foundation has sponsored this sit-down Holiday Luncheon for 200 low-income seniors in Kent County. This festive event features live entertainment from the NorthPointe Christian High School Choir under the direction of Lisa Spangler, holiday gifts, gifts cards and jammed-packed goodie bags for each senior who attends. For many seniors in assisted living situations, this is the only holiday celebration available to them.
A premier New Year’s Eve event in Grand Rapids, the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids Charities Foundation’s Benefit Concert, in conjunction with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, benefits Indian Trails Camp. Co-founded by the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids in 1952, Indian Trails Camp offers adaptive recreation in a barrier-free setting, where children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities can participate in traditional camp activities.
The 2009 concert marked our 10th annual event, bringing the total funds raised for Indian Trails Camp to over $250,000.
